Job Title: Security Installer Technician

Department: Service

Reports to: Project Manager

Direct Subordinates: N/A

Position Summary: The Security Installer Technician is an advanced-level technician position. The position has the technical understanding of alarm panel repair and operation to perform major repairs and installations of alarm panels and associated equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

troubleshoot operational failures of alarm panels and related systems

install and test new units

repair and adjust transfer electronic devices and perform major repairs on units

work with other technicians on large projects

guide and train lower-level technicians

respond quickly to job site (24/7)

follow safety requirements, including proper use of protective equipment

safely drive a service vehicle

clearly, concisely document all work and repairs completed

establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts;

completing installation; performing acceptance tests.

maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques;

recommending system improvements.

keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns;

maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.

updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

High school diploma or GED certificate; and training from accredited technical school specializing in electronic technologies, or honorable military discharge with a duty assignment related to security integration.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the knowledge of smartphone technologies, cloud networks, word processing software, and database software.

Certificates and Licenses: Security Installer License, given by the State of Texas Department of Public Safety.
